Three labor pioneers have been selected for induction to the U.P. Labor Hall of Fame and will be honored at a ceremony on October 14, 2017 at NMU in Marquette. These individuals are being recognized for their contributions to the cause of worker dignity and workplace fairness.

The 2017 U.P. Labor Hall of Fame inductees include:

Ben Balkum – AMERICAN FEDERATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES LOCAL 2280

Carolyn Hietamaki – MICHIGAN NURSES ASSOCIATION

Warren Brule (Posthumously) – INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS LOCAL 219 and Founder of MJ ELECTRIC

This very special event will take place at the Superior Dome and the Great Lakes Rooms, Don H. Bottum University Center, Northern Michigan University, Marquette, Michigan.

5:00 p.m. (Hors d'oevres)

INDUCTION CEREMONY 

GREAT LAKES ROOMS, DON H BOTTUM UNIVERSITY CENTER, NMU

6:15 p.m. Sit Down Dinner (Cash Bar)

7:30 p.m. Ceremony

Tickets for this event are $50.00 per person and can be purchased by filling out the registration form (attached here). Checks should be made payable to U.P. This is not a political event, so local unions and other organizations are able to use general treasury money for this event.
